Our Police-accredited Street Rangers have become an integral part of the town centre.
We also work collaboratively with Police and other agencies in certain hotspot areas of the town, such as Arras Square. Our RadioLink scheme also connects businesses within the town centre with Street Rangers, Police and CCTV. There are 145 radios currently in use and, on average, these are used by businesses 83 times each week. In addition, over 200 exclusion notices banning people from the town centre have been handed out over the last five years following 2,000 warnings.
Ipswich's night-time economy venues in Ipswich are supported through both the RadioLink system as well as benefiting from inclusion in our All About Ipswich marketing campaigns such as Food & Drink Forknight and Christmas in Ipswich promotions. We also provide businesses the opportunity to access DISC, through BarWatch. DISC is an online information-sharing platform to upload images, information and intelligence
