#itsmystreet campaign continues to show growth in town centre

Ipswich Central today encouraged town centre businesses to get involved with the #itsmystreet campaign. Between 12noon and 2pm, businesses were asked to support their street and carry out a street clean-up. The Ipswich Central and CMS team were also out nice and early at 9.30am with their brooms and brushes making sure they got every cigarette butt they could, receiving lots of positive feedback from passer's by! Later in the day after taking a walk around the town, they were happy to see Debenhams getting involved and McDonald's staff doing a thorough clean up of around their store, down towards BHS and round the church! Sophie Alexander, Operations Manager of Ipswich Central said "It is important for everyone to take pride in the place they work and live, #itsmystreet encourages everyone to take responsibility for keeping their space clean and the Ipswich Central team will continue to push the importance of everyone working together." Whilst walking along the waterfront, ABP (Associated British Ports) were out in full force with the local businesses, litter picking on land- and by water! Paul Agar, Manager of ABP said "Associated British Ports are delighted to be leading the 2nd Waterfront Tidy Up in conjunction with Ipswich Central with participation from many businesses within the local vicinity- what a great day it was with the weather, and being actively involved with so many people in/around the Waterfront area was a real positive for us all.” A really successful day - and beautiful weather! #itsmystreet The forthcoming dates for these events are;
  • 4th August 2017
  • 6th October 2017
  • 12th January 2018
