With excitement levels reaching fever pitch ahead of Ipswich Town’s big Premier League kick-off on 17 August, Ipswich Central, the organisation aiming to make life in Ipswich town centre more vibrant, more welcoming, and more fulfilling, is launching a new campaign that will celebrate the benefits of the Premier League on local businesses and communities.

Over the course of the season, Ipswich Central will celebrate the gains Ipswich businesses will make from visitors and fans coming together around the town.

Nationally renowned football culture photographer, Adam Rosenbaum, has been commissioned to capture a series of portrait photographs of the people working at local businesses who will share their own personal insights into how they believe Premier League football impacts the town.

At the end of the season an in-depth study from national experts in this field will collate the economic impact that Ipswich’s 2024/25 season in topflight football has.

Fans can also get involved with the campaign, by applying for one of a limited number of disposable cameras which they will be asked to use to capture their own match day experiences throughout the season as part of the project.

All elements of the campaign will then come together in an exhibition at the end of the season to showcase the best photography celebrating local businesses and fan culture in the town and highlighting the positive economic and social impacts Premier League football has brough to Ipswich.

Lee Walker, Ipswich Central CEO said: “While the focus is obviously on the 90 minutes of action, the power of football extends far beyond the boundaries of the pitch with its benefits being felt across local communities. This season we have the added impact of Ipswich Town returning to the Premier League for the first time in over 20 years. Ipswich has so much to offer alongside great football with wonderful parks, the waterfront, independent shops, a wealth of places to eat and drink.

He added: “We wanted to look at the impact of the Premier League returning to Ipswich in an authentic way that taps into football culture. We also wanted to create a platform to showcase and celebrate the local businesses that will welcome fans and help showcase our town to the world over the coming season. This is a huge moment for the club, for the fans and for the businesses at the heart of our town. As a town fan, I’m proud to be sharing this experience.”

More details about the campaign will be released over the course of the season with businesses keen to get involved urged to engage with Ipswich Central. The campaign will also feature on All About Ipswich website and social media channels for fan engagement at www.allaboutipswich.com where fans can share their stories, pictures and experiences this season.

Ipswich Central runs the All About Ipswich website and is the Business Improvement District (BID) for Ipswich town centre and its businesses.
