The 'Connected Town' is brought to life in a major new report.
In 2018, world-renowned architects and urbanists Allies and Morrison put forward 10 blue-sky ideas for how Ipswich could look in the future. Their concepts, compiled in the first Ideas for Ipswich document, has ambitions to make the town future-proofed, more dynamic and more environmentally-friendly; whilst respecting the town's historical character and rich heritage.
Four years later, the London-based firm have revisited their ideas and produced an updated report that looks deeper into their concepts and builds upon our strategy to transform Ipswich into a vibrant 'Connected Town' centre.

Our Chair, Terry Baxter, says: “This is a new report that we have commissioned from Allies & Morrison. It builds upon their previous work but now adds in the dimension of the Connected Town Centre, something which businesses voted in favour of by a huge majority at our ballot last November."
"I would urge all partners to engage positively with the full content of this report as it has the potential to be prove transformational for our town centre.”
Steve Walker, Director at Allies & Morrison, comments:"It has been a delight to continue our work with Ipswich Central to help develop ideas for the town. The vision for a compact, walkable and sustainable town centre full of vitality goes hand in hand with its amazing historic character - it has huge potential to set the standard as a liveable town."
