ABP Ipswich will be sponsoring a brand new 5K Business Challenge Race to encourage
local businesses to raise funds for charity as part of the Ipswich Twilight Race on 12th May
2018. The ABP Business Challenge will involve three ABP colleagues running for a combined time
against other local companies (3 people per team and teams must comprise at least 1 male
and 1 female). There are 84 team spaces available with a cup up for grabs and local
bragging rights within the town. To book a place for your business please click here.
The 5K route starts at the north end of the waterfront and circles the wet dock two and a
half times before finishing on Orwell Quay. Up to 1,200 runners are expected to take part
and many more visitors will be cheering along the packed route.
While the event has traditionally been held in August, this year it will take place in
May, offering a number of races and activities over what promises to be a great day. ABP
are sponsoring the Business Challenge and all of the bottled water for the event. There are a
number of runs planned throughout the day including a family run culminating with the
Twilight cup at 7pm.
ABP Divisional Port Manager – East Coast, Paul Ager, said: “We are delighted to be
sponsoring this running challenge as part of the Ipswich Twilight Race and we hope it will
inspire many local businesses to join in. At ABP we are committed to supporting the
communities surrounding our ports and this is a great way to enjoy the Ipswich waterfront,
while raising money for charity.”
