We're pleased to announce that Derek Bowden has joined our Ipswich Central Board as a member.
Mr Bowden’s appointment further strengthens Ipswich Central’s board, as he brings a wealth of local knowledge and expertise to the team. His strategic focus and leadership will bolster the great work of Ipswich Central and lead positive change for the town.
Already a well-known figure in the community, Mr Bowden’s previous experience and appointments include Chief Executive Officer at Ipswich Town Football Club, Chief Executive of the Union of UEA Students and Deputy Chairman of Ipswich Building Society.
Mr Bowden comments: “I am delighted to have been appointed as a Director of Ipswich Central. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on our economy, wellbeing and social habits. As we hopefully exit lockdown and develop a new normal, the role of town centres will evolve but must remain an attraction to people at an economic and social level. I’m looking forward to sharing my expertise and thoughts with all at Ipswich Central to try and achieve a revitalisation of Ipswich town centre”.
Terry Baxter, Chair of Ipswich Central, adds: “Derek's appointment adds significant experience and expertise to the Ipswich Central board. He is a strategic thinker and has recent relevant experience in town centre management during his time in Essex. I am personally very happy to be working with him again for the benefit of our levy payers, as we develop the extensive plans for the future development of our town.”
