The organisers of the Sip’Swich drinks trail are encouraging people to submit their entries this weekend to be in with a chance of winning valuable prizes including a £250 bar tab, a VIP hospitality package at Ipswich Town Football Club and tickets to a show at the Regent.
Since its launch in March, Sip’Swich has attracted hundreds of people to follow six themed trails around some of the town’s finest pubs and bars. By collecting stamps – on paper or via a ground-breaking phone-based system – users have the chance to win prizes as well as discovering new favourite places to eat and drink.
The closing date for entries has now been extended until 5th May to allow trail goers to collect their last few stamps over the bank holiday weekend. In response to feedback from people struggling to get a ticket to Saturday’s match to complete the blue ‘Game On’ trail – the ITFC shop will offer Sip’Swich stamps to customers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week and next Monday.
Ipswich Central – the organisation working to enhance the vibrancy of the town centre – is responsible for running Sip’Swich. They have told us that the most popular of the six trails, in terms of digital stamps so far, is the Hopper one – which takes drinkers on a journey to pubs offering great beers and ales. However organisers expect the recent fine weather could well see the Alfresco trail taking the top spot as drinkers head to beer gardens to soak up the sun.
Lee Walker CEO of Ipswich Central said: “Sip’Swich was devised to help people discover new pubs and bars and the feedback from those taking part demonstrates that is happening in spades. Bar teams are seeing new faces, and trail goers are discovering places to go for a drink that they didn’t even know existed – from sophisticated but friendly wine and cocktail bars to beamed pubs that wouldn’t look out of place on a chocolate box village green. Winning a valuable bar tab or a special hospitality package is just the icing on the cake so I encourage everyone to have a last push to complete those trails before 5th May.”
An added bonus this week for trail goers is a social media competition that could see one lucky person win an exclusive Sip’Swich hamper featuring tote bags, a T-shirt and a cocktail masterclass for four people kindly donated by The Gallery bar in Wherry Lane. Details of how to win this extra prize are shown on all the @AllAboutIpswich social media channels.
