‘Us and Our People’ is the ITFC community mural winner

A new Ipswich Town Football Club community mural in Princes Street has been installed in line with the start of the town’s 2026/27 Premier League football season… and looks fantastic!

The winning design was created by Bradley Lloyd, a huge ITFC fan and the man behind Glory Days Artwork.

30 entries were received in total for the mural competition, eight were long-listed for Ipswich Town’s Fan Advisory Board to then choose a final three that were short-listed for a fan and season ticket holder vote to choose the final winning design. 

The three short-listed mural entries can be viewed here: www.itfc.co.uk/mural-competition-shortlist/ and 4,500 people voted for their favourite, with 47.76% (2,149 votes) wanting to see Brad’s design (Mural 2) win and be installed on Princes Street in time for town’s first home match of the 2026/27 Premier League season on 22 August.

Steve Flory, Chair of Ipswich Central, met the artist Brad and his family – father, wife and two children – at the mural shortly after install was completed by Hudson Signs on Friday 21 August. As part of his prize, Bradley also won £2,000 in prize money from Ipswich Central.

Brad Lloyd, mural artist and competition winner, said: “’Us and our people’ was a quote by captain Dara O’Shea that stuck in my head at the end of last season. I really wanted to show club legends, celebrate the diversity of the town, plus show iconic moments like Terry Butcher playing for England and Russell Osman in the Escape to Victory kit with this in mind.”

“Wolsey’s gate took a lot of time to get the bricks right, but needed to be on there. It was all drawn digitally and took a few months to get to the final design. It looks great and I’m really happy with it.”

Andrew Wood, Chief Revenue Office at Ipswich Town FC and Ipswich Central Board Member, said: “We are delighted that so many supporters are now able to see a piece of art which represents all that’s good about Ipswich Town. It’s a fantastic addition to matchday’s at Portman Road and to the town in general. Congratulations to all involved.”
