Meet the Team

PAUL CLEMENT Chief Executive

Paul has over a decade of experience in place management having started his own town centre management company in April 2000. Since then he has developed and renewed BIDs across the country and provides training and coaching to places in conjunction with British BIDs.

He has a Master’s Degree from De Montfort University in global influences within urban centres.

In his free time, Paul enjoys spending time with his family.

Paul is also Chief Executive Officer for Call Connection, an insurance business employing 225 staff with offices in London and Ipswich. He is the Chairman of the Board of Governors for St Joseph’s College (Ipswich), the Tyneside Group and the St James Group (Newcastle).

  SOPHIE Operations Manager

Sophie has worked for Ipswich Central since 2007. Her role includes managing the team of Street Rangers on a daily basis and also project managing Radiolink, the Exclusion Scheme and the delivery of Best Bar None from an Ipswich Central perspective.

FIONA WRIGHT Marketing Director

Fiona has worked in place marketing for over 20 years. Having previously completed a French and English law degree, Fiona worked as an Account Director in the UK’s largest property marketing and design agency leading campaigns for national housebuilders. She worked on large-scale development projects from inception through planning to delivery, and with niche builders on one-o bespoke projects. She brought this understanding of place and her marketing and communication expertise across into the BID world in 2009.

In between BID ballots and comms plans Fiona enjoys open water swimming and road cycling. Last seen in lycra heading into the Suffolk countryside.

Fiona is heavily involved at practitioner level as the Marketing Director for Ipswich Central and sits on the Ipswich Destination Management Organisation (DMO) Board as well as the Greater Ipswich Chamber of Commerce Board.

She has worked with and continues to work with numerous BIDs providing marketing and communication strategies both during BID terms and during an all important BID ballot.

TERRY BAXTER
Chairman and Director

Terry Baxter officially took over the role as Ipswich Central Chairman in September 2013 from William Coe who had been in the role for over six and a half years. Terry brings to the role an extensive knowledge of Ipswich and a real enthusiasm to take the Vision for Ipswich forward and help it reach fruition. He is also the chief executive of an independently funded education support charity. The charity harnesses the power of sport to motivate, inspire and improve the life chances of young people across Suffolk who are in need. The Trust particularly specialises in working with young people aged 16 – 24 who are not in employment, education or training (NEET). An experienced broadcaster and journalist, until July of 2013, Terry hosted the flagship, all-speech breakfast programme for BBC Radio Suffolk. He has worked with the BBC in both radio and television, specialising in Sport, News and Current Affairs.Terry is a media management and communications consultant to a number of clients both in Suffolk and nationally, he is often employed as an event ‘host’ and ‘facilitator’. Since 2007 Terry has been a Fellow of Suffolk New College.

The Street Ranger Team

Alex, Kyle, Geri and David all have an extensive knowledge of Ipswich town centre as a place, and also the people that live and work here. Their job is hugely varied and every day is different and can include managing graffiti removal, first aid incidents, shoplifter exclusions and visitor guidance.
